Close to 50 scientists from 16 different research institutions scattered throughout Europe attended the EASI-Genomics Kick-Off meeting on the 18th and 19th of February 2019 at CNAG-CRG in Barcelona.
This meeting was the opportunity to launch EASI-Genomics, an ambitious project funded by the European Commission and coordinated by CNAG-CRG.
EASI-Genomics aims to provide easy and seamless access to cutting-edge DNA sequencing technologies to researchers from academia and industry.
Furthermore, EASI-Genomics will support scientists to ensure compliance with the latest European and national ethical and legal requirements, secure data management and data sharing.
EASI-Genomics aims at building a community of practice which leverages advanced sequencing technologies beyond country and sector borders to tackle global challenges in science.
EASI-Genomics is an infrastructure project with a total budget of 10 million € that will handle between 150 and 300 projects over a period of 4 years. It will provide access to state-of-the-art sequencing infrastructures that will offer a wide range of cutting-edge genomic services.
